Nash Bridges

Joe (Cheech Marin) har totats ihop med poliskollegan Iris Heller (Penny Marshall) från New York. De drar inte jämnt för fem öre och omgivningen ges många tillfällen bevittna när det är uppenbart. Vid ett tillfälle, när deras polisbil har fått punka och de tvingar en omhändertagen yngling att byta däcket, så ringer Inger och Joe berättar på svenska på ett ganska fint sätt hur han inte tycker om Iris:

Joe: "Hello. Oh hi, Inger. Can't talk right now, honey. Hon lämnade sin kvast i Brooklyn."
Iris: "Sug min istapp."
Joe: "You speak Swedish?"
Iris: "I married a Swedish guy."
Joe: "No way. I'm married to a Swedish woman."
Iris: "Well, I hope yours works out better than mine."
Joe: "Yeah, well, so far, so good. You got kids?"
Iris: Iris: "Three, last I checked."
Joe: "You do that Christmas tradition of dipping the bread in the ham broth every year?"
Iris: "I was in charge of motting the urn."
Joe: "Are these people crazy or what?"
Iris: "My in-laws are from Ludvika. What about yours?"
Joe: "No way! Mine are from Fagesta. It's like about 30 minutes away. You know, if it's not too cold to start the car in the morning."
Iris: "Of course. Did you ever go to that restaurant in Avesta?"
Båda: "The Svenska? The Svenska?"
Joe: "It's the only one there."
