Benny Tate (Jason Bernard) har en diskussion med Charlie Parker (Forest Whitaker) efter en spelning i Paris. Han vill att Charlie ska vara kvar i Europa. Turnera och besöka Holland, Belgien och Sverige:

Benny: "You know, I been here four years. I work ten months out of the year. More, if I want to. Go to Belgium, Holland, Sweden. You could do the same thing. You know, I don't go for that shit you people play but over here, they are crazy about it."

Charlie Parker var aldrig i Sverige i filmen men gjorde en nästan två veckor lång turné i november 1950. Från Lund till Gävle.
