Smallville

Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) har lejt en privatdetektiv som ska följa hans far Lionel (John Glover) och rapportera om allt han företar sig. Deckaren tar några foton av Lex far tillsammans med Helen Bryce (Emmanuelle Vaugier) som Lex har inlett ett förhållande med. Lex ställer helt sonika Helen mot väggen och kräver att få veta varför hon träffar hans far i tron att de har något fuffens ihop. Det visar sig dock att Lionel hade föreslagit att Helen skulle få 100000 dollar ifall hon lämnade Lex, men att hon bett honom dra åt fanders. När Lex får reda på detta ångrar han sig otroligt:

Lex: "You're telling me my father offered you $ 100,000 against your will? Why would he do that?"
Helen: "I can't even begin to fathom the depths of the Luthor family pathology."
Lex: "You could have been honest, you could have told me."
Helen: "I was about to but before I could say a word, I realized I was in the middle of an interrogation."
Lex: "Helen... if I had known..."
Helen: "No, no, no, no. I'm glad that this happened. It showed me who I was really dealing with. You know, I've done some pretty stupid things in my life, but this could possibly win the Nobel Prize for stupidity."
