Gilmore Girls, avsnittet Presenting Lorelai Gilmore (2001)

Christopher (David Sutcliffe), pappan till Lorelais dotter Rory (Alexis Bledel), kommer och hälsar på och de båda damerna är helt överraskade över att Christopher har skaffat en bil - och en Volvo till råga på allt. När Rory har gått in i huset igen så fortsätter Christopher och Lorelai att munhuggas lite kärleksfullt:

Christopher: "So back to mocking my car?"
Lorelai: "Oh yeah. A Volvo Sedan, are you kidding?"
Christopher: "This is a great car."
Lorelai: "For driving to bingo."

Vid slutet av avsnittet försöker Lorelai övertala Christopher till att stanna lite längre. Hon meddelar att hon har tittat lite på kartor och insett att Boston inte är så långt bort och att väg I84 är asfalterad och nog jättebra att köra på ifall man snabbt vill komma över och hälsa på. Christopher tycker om idéen och fortsätter:

Christopher: "You realize I'll be driving the Volvo?"
Lorelai: "Actually, I'm coming around to the Volvo."
Christopher: "Really?"
Lorelai: "Yes. I think it's sort of a Catholic schoolgirl thing, you know? It's conservative on the outside, bad on the inside."
Christopher: "I like that image."

Det kommer dock fram under det fortsatta samtalet att Christopher har en ny flickvän, Sherri, och att han flyttat till Boston för att hon bodde där. Han berättar också att det var på grund av Sherri som han har skaffat jobb och fixat till sitt liv lite grann:

Christopher: "Yeah, well, Sherri made it pretty clear that I was gonna lose her if I didn't start getting it together, so..."
Lorelai: "Yeah, well if you find a girl who's good with dating a square in a Volvo, you do what it takes to keep her."
