Lab rats

Självupptagna professorn John (Geoffrey McGivern) läser i sin tyska tidning som han får skickat till dig varje dag (eftersom han bor och jobbar i England), och hittar där ett program som tiltalar honom:

John: "Guess who's on TV tonight?! Eight o'clock this evening, the hundred greatest Nobel prize winners."

Alex (Chris Addison) är inte lika exalterad som John dock:

John: "I hope I'm higher than 68."
Alex: "A bit presumptuous. Who says you'll be in it all? There're plenty of greater Nobel Prize winners than you."
John: "Name one."
Alex: "I could probably name 67. Einstein..."
John: "Einstein?! Ugh!"

De muckar lite om Einstein är viktigare än John, men Alex drar sista strået till slut:

Alex: "Oh, well, shame we can't get German telly, then, isn't it?"
John: "Oh, can we not?"
Alex: "Well, we used to be able to get all the tellies, until somebody got visited by the bailiffs from the Swedish shopping channel. Honestly, Professor, why would anybody need three saunas in their house?"
John: "Damn my addiction to hot steam!"

John ser det som ett uppdrag att möjliggöra hans tittande av det tyska programmet om nobelprisvinnare. Han drar med Brian (Daniel Tetsell) för att koppla om lite kablar i universitetets korridorer. För att inte se alltför suspekta ut när de pysslar med kabeldragningen har John fixat ett litet tält som de sitter i när de jobbar. De tvingas sitta där ett bra tag, och Brian behöver gå på toa men John hindrar honom:

Brian: "I just need a wee."
John: "Don't be selfish, Brian. This hundred greatest Nobel prize winners thing is a one-off, you get to wee every day, more sometimes."
Brian: "You're never gonna be on that list."
John: "Why ever not? Name one better Nobel prize winner than me."
Brian: "Watson and Crick."
John: "Watson and Crick! Ha! Ooh, look we invented DNA."

Rektorn (Selina Cadell) verkar ha lite misstankar om vad John håller på med:

Rektorn: "Now, John - I really can't have you re-routing the TV satellite feed and buying more saunas again."
John: "Oh, no, no - it's not about saunas, it's so that I can watch myself on the hundred greatest Nobel prize winners tonight."
Rektorn: "Oh, please John, you are embarrassing yourself with this feebly-weebly excuses. You will not be on that programmes."
John: "Oh, really? Name one Nobel prize winner better than me."
Rektorn: "Marie Curie."
John: "Pht! Marie Curie!"

John och Brian lyckas i alla fall med att koppla om alla kablar rätt och dessutom koppla in sig på satellitmottagaren vid Jodrell Banks.

TV: "Up next on Channel Vier, ze one hundred greatest Nobel prize winners of all time, und expect strong language from ze very beginning."
